It was July 30, 2020. The pandemic had taken the world by storm at this point. One of my friends in Ashland posted about barred owls she kept seeing on her walks. I asked her about them and she let me know where they usually hang out.

It was around 5:00pm and I decided to go check them out by myself; something I don’t usually do. But, alone time sounded pretty good to escape the same old four walls.

When I arrived, it took a while to find the correct area. Once I did, two juveniles started communicating. Right. Above. My. Head.

I was in awe, as I took a bunch of pix, far enough away and hidden in the brush, so as to not bother them. I took 1,051 photos in 41 minutes.

Then, I heard another owl calling. The two juvies left and I saw them soar through the trees with their parent. AMAZING!
