Hi, I’m Nancy Wright, Fine Art Nature and Wildlife Photographer
Bringing New England’s Beauty to Blank Walls

Click! The sound of attaching the beastly Sigma 150-600mm lens to my Nikon D850. Aaaah!

Capturing Mother Nature’s shenanigans, whether from the woods, waterways, or my office window, deepens my appreciation for nature and the beauty of each season. Especially in New England; I don’t think I’ll ever leave this area. There are so many photo adventures to fill my calendar.

You don’t have to travel the world to get stunning photos (although it sure is fun doing so!).

Some of our most popular prints have been captured in this area that I call home. And, speaking of home, if you have walls that are blank or need a refresh, let’s talk. Owls, backyard birds, landscapes, flowers, cityscapes, iconic landmarks. So many options with wrightpix. The one that matters most is the one that works for you… your style, budget, and space.

The worst day spent on a photo adventure is better than the best day I’ve ever spent in an office.

Remember the days of ordering double prints?

That was me, always sharing photos. I quickly became the go-to photographer for family, sports, and travel adventures (“Hey, can you bring your camera to the party/game/wedding?”)

I took photography classes here and there, did workshops, and joined a camera club in 2019. That same year, I did a snowy owl adventure down in Rhode Island with Peter Christoph. It started out sunny, but then we spent several hours in the cold rain, capturing the magic of this beautiful creature.

I snapped this iconic image of the snowy owl in flight…and I was hooked.

BEFORE THE OWL PROWLS

I wasn’t always a nature and wildlife photographer — in fact I spent many years tucked away in an office. I grew up in Methuen, MA, earned a bachelor’s degree in advertising/journalism from University of Maine Orono, and a master’s degree in professional communication from Clark University.

After spending 20+ years climbing the copy/communications ladder, serving on boards, and working my way up to an executive role and six-figure income, I decided to drop out of corporate America. Instead, I made the decision to focus on what mattered most, and for 12 years, dedicated my time to volunteer for my daughter’s school, sports, music, and Girl Scout activities.

Getting out of my comfort zone

As an introvert, I enjoy being behind the lens. I knew though, that I needed to push myself out of my comfort zone, so I embarked on a learning journey and fully engaged in the photography community. With the camera club I joined, and the various photo workshops I attended, I learned light box photography, light painting, night photography/star trails, and macro photography. I surprised myself and even became a tripod photographer. I had many, “I did that?” moments.

I’ve come a long way since that first snowy owl trip and have been blessed to be recognized locally, regionally, and nationally for my photography.

Behind the lens

Everyone laughs at me when we go on walks because we have to stop every two seconds. Hey, if you’re anything like me, you’re easily distracted by every small detail you notice when you cross paths with nature.  At home, I’m constantly swiveling from my computer to the window. Cardinals are singing. Flowers are blossoming. Hummingbirds are twittling (Yes, I think I just made up that word.)

Why do I get so much joy from nature and wildlife photography?

Because I love bug spray and wet boots. Just kidding!  I do it to connect you with an experience, memory, story, or a dream. I love sharing the love of nature.

I’m inspired when….

  • Your jaw drops, as you whisper “Wooowww!”

  • The art on your walls makes your guests pause for a second look

  • You get that euphoric feeling of connecting with nature

  • A coaster, an ornament, or notecard brings a smile to someone’s face

  • An art print makes you fall into a happy daydream

Now YOU can be the best gift giver.

There’s nothing like watching your friends and family open their wrightpix ornaments, notecards, coasters, or wall art.  If you’re a giver like me, you’ll love getting even more than you give: lots of wows and a genuine sense of connection.

Connect with nature through wrightpix photo prints and gifts.

Each photo has its own story; the real magic happens when you connect your own stories to ours.
